Red Wing boot program (free/discounted work shoes) What you’ll do as a Used Car Technician: Inspect, diagnose, and repair used vehicles to ensure they meet Ken Garff standards for retail sale Perform thorough multi-point inspections and identify mechanical, electrical, safety, and cosmetic concerns Diagnose and repair a variety of vehicle systems, including brakes, suspension, steering, HVAC, electrical, drivetrain, and more Complete reconditioning repairs efficiently and accurately while maintaining high-quality standards Use diagnostic equipment, scan tools, service information, and wiring diagrams to identify and resolve concerns Perform maintenance and repairs across a wide range of makes and models Communicate repair needs and recommendations with the Used Car team and Service leadership Maintain cleanliness throughout your workspace and in all customer and inventory vehicles Complete required training and continue developing your technical skills Here's what you'll need: Your own professional-grade tools Previous automotive repair experience at a dealership or independent shop Experience diagnosing and repairing multiple makes and models Strong understanding of automotive mechanical and electrical systems Good diagnostic skills and comfort with scan tools, wiring diagrams, and service information ASE certifications or manufacturer training preferred A valid driver's license and a good driving record, per company standards At first glance, there’s nothing remarkable at Ken Garff.
