Legal Assistant – Bankruptcy / Litigation Portland, ME | Full-Time | Permanent $60,000–$75,000+ DOE Established law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a busy practice. The ideal candidate will have bankruptcy experience, but strong legal assistants with experience in another litigation or law firm environment are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to attorneys Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence Assist with court filings, case management, and document organization Track deadlines, court dates, and other case-related matters Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and outside parties Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality Qualifications Prior law firm legal assistant experience Bankruptcy experience strongly preferred, but not required Strong organizational and communication skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Compensation: $60,000–$70,000, with flexibility above $75,000 for candidates with strong, directly relevant experience.
