VP OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT Fourier is working on making on-site Hydrogen universally accessible. Our breakthrough architecture enables highly modular and fully automated Hydrogen cells that scale to any size and optimized efficiency at all loads. We are on a mission to transition the global energy landscape towards a purely sustainable and emission free future. ABOUT THE ROLE Fourier seeks a commercial leader to lead our sales and Go-to-Market strategy. You will be responsible for the company’s commercial growth and deployment of early Fourier devices into customer locations. Ideal candidates will have a strong commercial background, possessing the ability to connect and empathize with Fourier’s customers to instill confidence in Fourier’s system. Crucially, this is a "player-coach" role for our early commercialization stage. You will act as a hands-on individual contributor to hunt, negotiate, and close our first major deployments, followed by building and scaling a world-class business development team as the company grows. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Reporting to the CEO, serve as part of the core leadership in defining the strategy and implementation of Fourier’s commercial growth plan. • Own the top-of-funnel Go-To-Market strategy, aggressively building our initial pipeline into new use cases like power storage and data centers, while continuing to refine Fourier’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP). • Act as the primary closer for our early deployments, hands-on leading commercial negotiations, pilot agreements, and offtake agreements, while shaping Fourier’s pricing strategy. • Own the company’s commercial roadmap and aid with raising capital to support it. • Build and scale a world-class business development team and develop future leaders to grow and scale with the company. • Support other Fourier team members on customer meetings and visits, as necessary. • Champion new ideas, technologies, and directions while steering the team towards execution and meeting commercial targets. • Define goals and targets for the commercial group and ensure overall company commercial targets are being met. • Identify and coordinate Fourier’s participation in industry-related events including industry associations, trade-shows, and conferences. • Drive and build upon our strong commercial culture that focuses on agency, accountability, and velocity. • Engage in continuous performance management to coach, recognize, celebrate, and inspire excellence while clearly communicating expectations and accountability. • Develop Fourier’s collaborative and people-driven culture to enable individual growth and make Fourier one of the best places to work QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field such as economics, business, or marketing; MBA or advanced degree preferred. • 10+ years of experience in commercial leadership roles. • Demonstrated experience building a lean, high-performing commercial team from the ground up, with a track record of hiring and growing customer-facing teams. Experience doing it at early stage start ups is a plus. • Track record of acting as a hands-on individual contributor to secure early revenue and ability to meet and exceed assigned commercial targets. • Experience in selling and deploying industrial-grade services and products. • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts. • Deep organization capabilities, especially in regards to influence, collaboration, and communication. • Experience with renewable energy production and backup power systems a plus in heavy industries, data centers, and other energy-intensive environments. • Prior experience selling or working with industrial gases is a plus. • Experience setting and implementing a performance-based compensation plan. • 50%+ Travel required to visit customer locations and attend industry events WHAT WE OFFER • Fully paid Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage • Competitive salary and equity compensation commensurate with experience • 401k • Diverse and inclusive work environment • Paid sick days and vacation
