Business Intelligence Analyst

ABS Group is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Artificial Intelligence Practice in support of a major federal modernization program. In this role, you will use business intelligence and visualization tools to turn complex data into clear, decision-ready dashboards, reports, and analytical products. You will work with stakeholders across technical and operational teams to provide reporting, insight, and performance visibility that supports better decision-making in a large-scale federal environment. The scope of responsibility, degree of technical leadership, and level of independence expected will reflect the level at which this position is filled. What You Will Do • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, scorecards, and other business intelligence products • Analyze, interpret, and visualize data to support operational, technical, and stakeholder decision-making • Develop reproducible reports and analyses, including trend analysis, benchmarking, and performance reporting • Translate stakeholder needs into effective reporting structures, visualizations, and dashboard requirements • Integrate data from multiple sources to support accurate and consistent reporting outputs • Present findings and business intelligence products to both technical and non-technical audiences • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and program stakeholders to improve reporting data structures and insight generation • Support validation, refresh accuracy, usability, and quality of reporting products • Produce presentation materials, reporting guidance, and supporting documentation as needed What You Will Need Level and Compensation: This position may be filled at multiple career levels based on business need and the selected candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated capability. Typical leveling for this role is as follows: • Junior (0 to 4 years) • Mid-Level (5 to 9 years) • Senior (10 to 14 years) • Principal (15 or more years) These ranges are guidelines only and are not the sole determining factor in level. The posted compensation range reflects the full range across all possible levels. Individual offers will be based on the level at which the candidate is hired, as well as factors such as skills, experience, internal equity, and geographic market considerations where applicable. Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • Relevant professional experience in business intelligence, dashboard development, reporting, or analytical visualization roles; the depth and scope of experience required will vary based on the level at which this position is filled • Experience delivering reporting and visualization products for operational, executive, or stakeholder audiences preferred • Experience in a complex enterprise, consulting, or government environment a plus • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI and dashboarding tools • Working knowledge of SQL and experience with structured data sources • Familiarity with data visualization, dashboard design, reporting concepts, and analytics • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and create clear, useful visual products • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Understanding of validation practices, reporting quality controls, and data governance considerations Nice to Have • Experience supporting executive or stakeholder reporting in a large program environment • Familiarity with survey, demographic, statistical, or public sector reporting environments • Experience with geospatial or map-based visualizations • Knowledge of accessibility considerations for dashboards and reports Location This position is based in the Washington, D.C. metro area, with primary work performed in Suitland, Maryland. Remote or hybrid arrangements may be available for eligible work, subject to government approval.
