Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Mission Support Directorate, Executive Director Front Office, located in Washington, DC. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above. In this position, you will serve as a senior analyst and/or program advisor to management on various functions and activities requiring application of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessment of management processes, systems and mission support programs. Typical duties: Serving as an Office of Field Operations subject matter expert in advising executives and senior leadership of staffing flexibilities, laws, and policies. Acting as liaison between the CBP Hiring Center and the field to ensure that Human Resources Management policies and guidelines are carried out Providing an overview personnel management advisory and technical services on substantive organizational functions and work practices; identifying, evaluating, and recommending to management appropriate interventions to resolve issues; working with the appropriate person/office to resolve discrepancies and preparing exception reports to management, highlighting areas in need of management attention Building and managing client/stakeholder relationships through ongoing client consultations to proactively ensure needs are being met Analyzing requests from the field and headquarters directorates to ensure the requests are justified and detect any unintended consequences and whether the desired outcome can be achieved in a more effective manner Designing, implementing, managing ongoing projects, and directing the related resources, personnel, and activities to successful completion.
