Sales Development Representative Terminal Tractor

The Sales Development Representative, Terminal Tractor is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market presence within an assigned territory. This position develops new business opportunities, builds and maintains strategic customer relationships, and serves as the primary sales representative for terminal tractor products and related solutions, including equipment sales, rentals, parts, service, and body shop support. Essential Job Functions Develop and execute territory sales plans to generate new business opportunities, expand assigned account penetration, and increase terminal tractor market share. Identify, pursue, and secure sales opportunities through prospecting, customer engagement, relationship building, and strategic account management. Serve as the primary customer contact for terminal tractor solutions, including equipment sales, rentals, parts, service, maintenance, and body shop support. Drive aftermarket revenue growth by promoting parts, service, maintenance, and rental offerings that support customer retention and long-term account value. Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation, distribution, warehousing, intermodal, manufacturing, and related industry customers. Collaborate with sales, service, parts, rental, and operations teams to coordinate customer solutions and support a consistent customer experience. Monitor market conditions, customer needs, competitive activity, and industry trends to identify growth opportunities and support business development strategies. Achieve or exceed established sales, revenue, profitability, customer growth, pipeline management, and activity reporting objectives. Education And/or Experience High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of successful B2B sales, business development, equipment sales, transportation sales, or related industry experience, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales, revenue, and customer growth objectives. Experience selling commercial vehicles, terminal tractors, material handling equipment, heavy equipment, fleet solutions, transportation services, or industrial products, including generating new business through prospecting, networking, cold calling, and relationship management. Must possess a current and valid driver's license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier. Other Skills And Abilities Required Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills with the ability to establish credibility and trust with customers and internal stakeholders. Ability to collaborate effectively with General Managers, Truck Sales Managers, Aftermarket Sales Managers, and cross-functional sales teams to execute growth initiatives. Proficiency using CRM systems to manage customer accounts, sales pipelines, forecasting, and activity tracking; working knowledge of parts, service, rentals, aftermarket programs, or fleet maintenance operations preferred. Strong business acumen with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend comprehensive equipment and aftermarket solutions. Ability to analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer data to identify opportunities and support strategic sales decisions. Effective verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of an organization. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines in a dynamic sales environment. Ability to prepare and present sales forecasts, territory performance updates, and market intelligence reports to leadership. Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work independently while achieving sales and growth objectives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, for reporting, analysis, and customer communications.
