We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to support product quality and technical issue resolution for large engine products. This role is ideal for a mechanically strong engineer who can understand complex systems, investigate technical issues, determine root causes, and work effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams. The engineer will review and triage incoming product quality issues, determine whether concerns are new or previously addressed, and help identify the appropriate path for resolution between manufacturing and engineering teams. This position offers an opportunity to grow into Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), Six Sigma, and data analytics initiatives as product and system knowledge develops. Key Responsibilities Review, evaluate, and triage incoming product quality issues and claims. Investigate technical and system-level problems to understand root causes and determine appropriate ownership. Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve product quality concerns. Collaborate with manufacturing facilities and cross-functional stakeholders to investigate and address technical issues. Analyze quality trends, technical data, and issue patterns to support problem-solving and decision-making. Develop and support reporting and analytics using tools such as Power BI or Tableau . Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and resolution plans clearly to engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams. Support Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) and Six Sigma initiatives. Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, DFMEA, DOE, DMAIC, and Six Sigma where applicable. Manage multiple issues and projects while balancing timelines, priorities, and business needs. Prepare engineering documentation, reports, drawings, and technical analyses as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field . 2+ years of relevant engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree. Candidates with a 2-year technical/engineering degree and 6+ years of relevant experience may be considered. Strong technical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems. Experience in manufacturing, product quality, product engineering, or mechanical engineering . Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience investigating technical issues and identifying root causes. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams. Project management or project leadership experience.
