Position Summary: Data analyst within the Acceptable Knowledge Organization supporting the Contact Handled (CH) Transuranic (TRU) Waste Programs. The role is heavy on SQL
• roughly 50% of the job is writing and running queries to extract data from production, historical, and document databases. The balance is data cleanup, container evaluation for waste stream qualification, regulatory documentation, and supporting annual WIPP audits. What You'll Do Write and run SQL scripts to extract and analyze data from multiple databases (50% of time) Evaluate container information to qualify waste containers for treatment processes and waste streams (20%) Clean and format data using Excel and Access (10%) Collect, summarize, and document information on generating facilities, processes, physical/chemical characteristics, and regulatory requirements for transuranic waste (10%) Support WIPP audits, train/mentor other AKEs, generate reports (10%) Interpret WIPP Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC), Waste Acceptance Permit (WAP), and regulations (RCRA, TSCA) Interface with DOE Idaho, Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO), and other IEC departments Initiate Nonconformance Reports and resolve AK issues Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in data analytics, OR Bachelor's in science/mathematics with 4+ years of data analytics experience Experience writing database queries in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) or Oracle SQL Proficient in Microsoft Access Strong Excel skills Strong document generation / Microsoft Word skills Proficient in data wrangling and analysis Able to obtain DOE Q Clearance (U.S. citizenship required) Soft Skills Excellent written and verbal communication Strong attention to detail Ability to handle multiple priorities and work across teams Problem-solving and organizational skills Salary: $75000.00 - $100000.00 per year
