Software Engineer

Title: Full Stack Software Engineer Location: Dallas, TX (4 days onsite, Wednesday WFH) Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $120,000–$130,000 base salary Overview: Our client is building an energy analytics SaaS platform that helps organizations reduce utility costs and improve energy performance across large building portfolios. This is a hands-on full stack role with lots of new development, feature work, and ownership on a collaborative product team. What you’ll do Build and ship end-to-end features (API, data model, web UI; mobile UI as needed) Develop in a Node.js / TypeScript backend Build and maintain React front ends Write and maintain automated tests Use AI coding agents as part of daily development (planning, refactoring, testing) and rigorously review output Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and code reviews Troubleshoot and resolve production issues Required 2+ years of professional web application development JavaScript + TypeScript React (hooks/component design; React Query / React Hook Form or similar) Node.js + Express PostgreSQL (schema design, SQL, migrations) Testing (Jest, Vitest, or similar) Git-based PR/code review workflow Hands-on experience with Docker, Redis, and AWS S3 Deploying containerized apps (AWS ECS or similar) Async/background processing (AWS SQS or similar) Comfortable working in a large/legacy codebase and modernizing it Experience using AI coding tools beyond autocomplete (Claude Code/Codex/Cursor/Copilot, etc.) Nice to have React Native / Expo Elasticsearch/OpenSearch DynamoDB / Athena / Bedrock Python, Prisma Experience with energy/utility/facilities data
