About the Position: Directs operational contract support planning and logistics preparation for military exercises, contingency operations, and theater security cooperation, while providing policy guidance and executive representation across joint commands. Synchronizes contracted operational support into comprehensive military contingency plans, establishing contractor management policies, conducting risk assessments, and aligning commercial logistics capabilities across joint organizations. Develops logistics training plans, scenario event lists, and operational policies for major joint military exercises while coordinating real-world life support requirements and integrating lessons learned into organizational systems. Formulates long-range strategic sustainment concepts, crisis action plans, and operational annexes, conducting feasibility analyses to ensure comprehensive logistical readiness across the regional theater of operations. Evaluates defense logistics policies to establish standardized operational guidance, aligning joint requirements with multinational partners and advising leadership on sustainment priorities during deliberate and crisis situations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes the following: Assisting in developing, coordinating, and evaluating theater-level logistics concept plans, contingency plans (CONPLANs), operations plans (OPLANs), or sustainment annexes in support of joint military operations or exercises; Integrating contracted support into operational logistics plans, conducting risk assessments on commercial logistics capabilities, and coordinating contractor accountability and deployment tracking mechanisms (e.g., SPOT or equivalent systems); Developing logistics scenario data, Master Scenario Events Lists (MSELs), or life support logistics requirements (e.g., transportation, billeting, feeding) for military exercises and operational training events; and Reviewing defense logistics policies and coordinating operational sustainment requirements across military service components, combatant commands, or multinational defense partners. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
