Role Description The Business Development Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Newport, RI, responsible for driving new business opportunities and revenue growth. Day-to-day activities include prospecting and qualifying leads, managing inbound and outbound sales calls and emails, and maintaining a robust sales pipeline focused on microscopes and related services. The role involves understanding customer needs, presenting tailored solutions, preparing quotes, and collaborating with the sales and operations teams to ensure a smooth customer experience. The Business Development Representative will also contribute to market research, participate in industry outreach, and support ongoing relationship management with key accounts. Qualifications Candidates should possess Inside Sales and Lead Generation skills to identify prospects, qualify opportunities, and manage a high-volume pipeline. Candidates should possess Sales and Business Development skills to conduct consultative selling, close deals, and expand customer relationships. Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. Familiarity with CRM tools, sales reporting, and basic data analysis is beneficial. Experience in scientific instrumentation, microscopy, or related laboratory equipment is a plus. Ability to work on-site in Newport, RI, manage multiple priorities, and operate in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
