Distributes, balances, monitors and reports on workload in accordance with established workflow or job specialization. Assures equitable distribution among employees and timely accomplishment of assigned workload. Amends or rejects work not meeting established standards and refers to supervisor any problems on meeting performance standards. Maintains current knowledge of procedures, policies and directives; answers questions; and provides both classroom and OJT instruction to employees. Resolves simple informal complaints, refers others to supervisor; reports on performance, progress and training needs of employees and on disciplinary problems. Performs administrative duties in the absence of the manager. STANDARD POSITION DESCRIPTIONS (SPD): PD92042 Visit the IRS SPD Library to access the position descriptions. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. GS-08 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position must include: Providing technical guidance, answering employee questions, and conducting classroom, structured, and on-the-job training on work procedures, program requirements, system usage, and consistent application of policies using resources such as Internal Revenue Manual (IRM), Servicewide Electronic Research Program (SERP), and local procedures. Reviewing completed and in-process case-related work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies, procedures, quality standards, and program requirements. Amending or rejecting work that does not meet standards, providing corrective guidance, and referring recurring or unresolved performance issues to the supervisor. Balancing, monitoring, and reporting on workload to ensure assignments are completed timely, equitably, and in accordance with established priorities, workflow, production requirements, and deadlines. Using workload tools such as the Automated Age Listing (AAL), or comparable systems, to track aging inventory, monitor assignments, identify backlogs, and adjust work as needed. Using IRS systems, research tools, and guidance resources to provide technical instruction, resolve employee questions, support case processing, and ensure consistent application of procedures. Systems include Integrated Data Retrieval System (IDRS), Account Management Services (AMS), E-file User Portal (EUP), Internal Revenue Manual (IRM), Servicewide Electronic Research Program (SERP), Report Generation Software (RGS), Finesse, Verint, Correspondence Examination Automation Support (CEAS) Assisting internal and external customers, employees, and management by responding to inquiries, clarifying issues, conducting inbound or outbound communications, providing information needed to resolve cases or transactions, and identifying recurring issues or process improvements. AND You must also meet the following requirement(s): TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT (TACA): By the closing date (or if this is an open continuous announcement, by the cut-off date) specified in this job announcement, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment. For this requirement, a competitive appointment is one where you applied to and were appointed from an announcement open to "All US Citizens" TIME IN GRADE (TIG): For positions above the GS-05, applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year (52 weeks) at the next lower grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the grade you are applying for. For positions at the GS-05, you cannot advance to the GS-05 if you have held a GS-02 in the past 52 weeks. There is no TIG restriction for GS-02, 03 or 04 positions. Probationary Period • A person who is required to go through a probationary period and then is transferred, promoted, demoted, or reassigned before he or she completes such period is required to complete the remainder of the probationary period in the new position. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
