As we continue to expand, we are seeking a proactive, relationship-driven DVM Recruiter to support veterinarian recruitment across assigned markets. About the Role The DVM Recruiter manages full-cycle recruitment for associate veterinarians and veterinary medical directors across WVP partner hospitals. This role partners closely with operations leaders and hospital teams to understand each practice’s needs, build candidate pipelines, and connect experienced and early-career veterinarians with opportunities that align with their goals. Success in this role requires hands-on veterinary recruiting experience, consistent sourcing activity, strong follow-through, and the ability to build lasting relationships with candidates and hiring partners. This is a remote position with travel to partner hospitals, recruiting events, and conferences. This role will require up to 30% Travel. Candidates must have Veterinary Recruiting experience and be based in the Illinois market. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Hiring Partnerships Partner with regional operations leaders and hospital leadership to understand hiring priorities, practice needs, and the opportunities each hospital offers. Develop and execute recruiting plans for assigned markets, adjusting outreach based on candidate availability and hiring urgency. Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, candidate follow-up, offer negotiation, and onboarding handoffs. Assess candidates’ experience, career goals, practice preferences, and alignment with each hospital’s needs and WVP’s values. Guide hiring partners through the interview process, encourage timely feedback, and maintain momentum toward hiring decisions. Sourcing & Pipeline Development Proactively identify and engage active and passive veterinarian candidates through direct outreach, LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, professional networks, conferences, and other relevant channels. Build and maintain pipelines for current openings and anticipated hiring needs, including opportunities in competitive or difficult-to-fill markets. Develop relationships with veterinary schools and early-career programs to support student engagement and new-graduate recruitment. Maintain consistent outreach and follow-up, tailoring communication to each candidate’s interests and career stage. Share market insights, candidate feedback, and recruiting challenges with hiring partners to inform hiring strategies. Candidate Experience & Employer Representation Serve as a knowledgeable, approachable representative of WVP and its partner hospitals. Clearly communicate WVP’s partnership model, clinical autonomy philosophy, and professional development opportunities. Provide a personalized candidate experience through timely communication, thoughtful interview preparation, and clear next steps. Coordinate with recruiting support teams and hospital leaders on practice visits, candidate travel, and hiring logistics. Maintain candidate relationships over time, including with veterinarians who may be interested in future opportunities. Recruiting Operations & Team Collaboration Maintain accurate, current candidate records, recruiting activity, and hiring stages in Greenhouse and other recruiting tools. Monitor sourcing activity, pipeline progress, time-to-fill, and offer acceptance to identify opportunities for improvement. Provide regular updates on priority openings, candidate activity, hiring progress, and barriers requiring support. Collaborate with fellow recruiters and recruiting support teams to share referrals, sourcing ideas, and best practices. Participate in practice visits, recruiting events, and projects that strengthen recruiting effectiveness. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. At least three years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including direct experience recruiting veterinarians. Understanding of the veterinary industry, veterinarian career paths, and the challenges of recruiting in competitive markets. Demonstrated success sourcing passive candidates and managing multiple openings across geographic markets. Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills. Ability to build credibility with hospital leadership and operations partners. Strong organization, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through. Experience using applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other sourcing tools; Greenhouse experience preferred. Ability to work independently in a remote environment and travel to support recruiting needs. What Helps You Succeed A proactive approach to sourcing and building relationships. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for bonus and incentive compensation, the terms of which will be provided at the time of offer.
