Instrumentation Technician

Job Purpose This role supports KE's industrial and field service teams by ensuring instrumentation systems operate safely, accurately, and reliably across a variety of project environments. You'll be responsible for installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining instrumentation equipment that directly impacts plant operations, system performance, and project success. Success in this role means minimizing downtime, maintaining system accuracy, and supporting safe and efficient operations, all while upholding KE's commitment to Safety, People, Passion, and Performance. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include: • Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation systems and equipment. • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments. • Utilize HART communicators and diagnostic tools to configure, test, and verify instrument performance. • Troubleshoot analog (4-20mA) and discrete wiring circuits, control loops, and communication systems. • Conduct loop checks, functional testing, commissioning, and startup activities. • Diagnose instrumentation failures and implement effective corrective actions. • Read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. • Support routine maintenance, turnarounds, outages, shutdowns, and project work. • Maintain calibration records, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation. • Coordinate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve instrumentation-related issues. • Work independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. What You Bring You're someone who shows up ready to work hard, learn fast, and contribute to a team that takes pride in doing things right. Successful candidates typically bring: • 3+ years of industrial instrumentation experience preferred. • Technical degree or certification in Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, Automation, or a related field preferred. • Proficiency using HART communicators and instrument calibration tools. • Strong understanding of analog signals (4-20mA), discrete I/O systems, and process instrumentation. • Experience calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining instrumentation systems. • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs. • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities. • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in industrial manufacturing, power generation, oil & gas, food processing, or similar process environments. • Familiarity with PLCs, DCS systems, and process control equipment. • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or other applicable safety certifications. Pay Range We believe in paying for the value you bring to the team, and we aim to be competitive in every market we hire in. Pay Range: $26 - $29 per hour plus per diem and incentive opportunities.
