Role Overview Every returned product that comes through our warehouse needs to be evaluated, and documented correctly. The Warehouse Returns Specialist owns this process from start to finish. This includes sorting and inspecting incoming returns, determining product condition, routing units through the correct triage path, and keeping accurate records so the rest of the company can trust what happened to every returned unit. This role sits at the intersection of warehouse operations and customer support. You'll work hands-on with physical inventory while also coordinating closely with Customer Support, other Emporia warehouses/3PL partners to make sure refunds, exchanges, and warranty claims move quickly and accurately. We're not looking for a returns or logistics expert — we're looking for someone detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn our systems and processes. Responsibilities Returns Processing● Receive and process small parcel returns arriving via USPS, UPS, DHL, and FedEx — including customer warranty and full-refund returns as well as Amazon returns● Process refunds, exchanges, and warranty claims promptly and accurately using company tools● Inspect all returned chargers and determine condition (new vs. other)● Receive and sort returns using company tools to document return quality and triage results● Rework and refurbish returns to add to sellable inventory Documentation & Systems● Ensure every return is logged and documented using company tools● Use company tools to fill in any missing order or customer details needed to complete a ticket● Follow the established Triage Process, which defines the correct routing and handling for each return type● Coordinate with Customer Support to complete warranty tickets Cross-Functional Communication● Collaborate with Customer Support via Slack to help resolve customer inquiries and requests● Communicate with Emporia 3PL partners via email order changes or coordination are needed● Share accurate, timely information with the right people to keep problem-solving efficient across teams Mail & Shipping● Retrieve mail and packages from the mailbox and deliver mail to the designated recipients● Assist the Warehouse Lead with daily shipping requirements as needed AI & Technology● Use AI tools, including Claude, regularly● Build comfort using AI as part of daily workflow to speed up processes over time Required Skills & Qualifications ● Full-time, onsite presence required in Littleton, CO● Hours of operation: 8–5 / M–F (subject to change as business needs dictate)● Strong attention to detail, especially using company tools● Comfortable with physical warehouse work, including handling boxes and pallets● Must be able to lift minimum 50lbs● Able to follow structured return and triage processes while using good judgment on edge cases● Comfortable with technology, including warehouse and support software, email, and Slack — detailed technical experience is not required, but flexibility and eagerness to learn are essential● Strong written communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external shipping/3PL partners● Openness to learning and using AI tools as part of your daily workflow What We Offer 💰 Compensation: $24.00 per hour starting pay. 🏥 Benefits: medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), employee stock option program, paid holidays plus unlimited PTO, discounts on Emporia products and partner offerings. 📈 Career Growth: Be part of a fast-growing company at the forefront of home energy innovation.
