This Program Support Assistant position is located in the Facilities Management Service, VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, assigned to the National Center for Warrior Independence. The incumbent provides comprehensive administrative and technical support to ensure efficient operations and effective communication for the National Center for Warrior Independence, directly supporting leadership and the mission to serve homeless and at-risk veterans.
Duties include but are not limited to: Assist in managing multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate clinical and business functions for the National Center for Warrior Independence (NCWI) and affiliated programs. Provide administrative support to NCWI leadership, including data collection, budget preparation, and expense monitoring. Review and consolidate materials for the annual office budget; recommend adjustments based on changing costs or available funds. Collect, compile, and track data and statistical information to support NCWI operational programs. Maintain and organize computerized data sets; perform basic data analysis and generate reports. Review documents, reports, and applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with NCWI requirements. Maintain automated tracking systems for project milestones, progress reports, and compliance strategies. Establish and maintain office control systems for files, records, and procedures; act as a central resource for office administration. Advise on and recommend improvements to administrative practices and services. Review and screen incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, and directives; prepare outgoing correspondence for leadership signatures. Maintain master tracking spreadsheets for action items and ensure timely follow-up and completion. Arrange meetings and conferences, including scheduling, agendas, and attendance lists. Provide excellent customer service to veterans, staff, and visitors, handling inquiries and resolving issues professionally. Implement Green Environmental Management System (GEMS) requirements and participate in monitoring and audits. Protect sensitive data and ensure information security and confidentiality in accordance with VA policies and federal regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/09/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
