About the Position: This position is with the Equipment Management section at Martin Army Community Hospital located in Fort Benning, GA. Duty hours are 0730-1600. This is an open continuous announcement. Vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at the location listed. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Evaluate and install complex medical equipment and systems in a medical facility. Advise on special projects involving the installation, service and repair of highly complex medical equipment and systems. Serve as consultant to clinical staff in the purchase of new medical equipment and modifications of medical systems to meet special needs. Inspect, operate, and test medical equipment to determine whether it meets government's specifications after purchase. Conduct preventive maintenance checks and services inspections of medical patient care equipment such as x-ray machine, ultrasound scanners, physiological monitoring systems, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), etc. Operate Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment to support troubleshooting and repair of complex medical equipment and systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining, repairing, calibrating and/or testing specialized medical electronic equipment/systems such as x-ray equipment, ultrasound scanners, surgical, dermatological lasers, magnetic resonance imaging, or computed tomography scanners. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09) Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
