Senior Chemical Purchasing Engineer

Our client is a leading local chemical manufacturer based in Çorlu, specializing in innovative and sustainable chemical solutions for the textile, paint, and coating industries. We are seeking an agile, strategic, and hands-on Senior Chemical Purchasing Engineer experienced in purchasing raw materials for chemical manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in sourcing and purchasing chemical raw materials, supplier management, price negotiations, order and delivery follow-up, and ensuring uninterrupted material supply for production. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, Min. 5 years of experience in end-to-end supply chain and procurement within chemical manufacturing, preferably in chemical raw material manufacturing, with hands-on experience in raw material purchasing. Hands-on experience across strategic procurement, raw material sourcing, material planning, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and warehouse operations. Ability to analyze global and local raw material markets, price trends, supply risks, and market dynamics. Business fluency in English, both written and spoken. No restrictions on business travel. Currently residing in—or willing to relocate to Çorlu or neighboring areas. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day purchasing activities for chemical raw materials, ensuring timely supply in line with production requirements. Source, evaluate, and follow up with local and international suppliers, including identifying alternative suppliers when needed. Conduct price and commercial negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, lead times, Incoterms, and other purchasing conditions. Monitor material requirements based on production plans, customer orders, forecasts, inventory levels, and supplier lead times. Work closely with Production and Planning teams to ensure raw material availability and uninterrupted production. Monitor inventory levels, consumption, stock turnover, and reorder requirements, supporting appropriate safety stock and replenishment levels. Follow the purchasing process from supplier sourcing and purchase order placement through delivery and warehouse receipt. Coordinate with Logistics, Customs, and Warehouse teams for domestic and international raw material deliveries. Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, quality issues, and potential supply risks, taking corrective action when required. Follow local and global chemical raw material prices and market developments to support purchasing decisions and cost optimization. Maintain effective working relationships with key suppliers and support cost reduction and supply continuityinitiatives. Work closely with Production, R&D, Quality, Finance, Sales, and Logistics teams on raw material requirements, trials, new products, and changes in production needs. Prepare and maintain purchasing, inventory, supplier performance, and cost reports and provide relevant information to management when required.
