Position Summary The Event Sales Manager is responsible for generating new catering and event business, developing local market relationships, and driving revenue growth for one of Austin's most iconic luxury hotels. This highly visible sales role focuses on cultivating relationships with corporate clients, social event planners, community organizations, and local businesses to grow banquet and catering revenue across the hotel's unique event venues. The ideal candidate is a motivated, results-oriented sales professional who enjoys building relationships, networking within the Austin community, and creating exceptional event experiences. This position is responsible for generating new business while managing client relationships from initial inquiry through successful event execution, ensuring both revenue growth and exceptional guest satisfaction. Essential Responsibilities Proactively solicit new catering, social, and corporate event business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and community engagement efforts. Develop and execute strategies to increase local catering revenue and market share. Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, event planners, community organizations, and key decision-makers. Conduct site tours and present customized event solutions that highlight The Driskill's unique venues, historic charm, and luxury service standards. Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and close business opportunities that align with revenue goals. Collaborate with clients to design memorable events, including menu selections, room layouts, timelines, and service details. Partner closely with operations, culinary, and banquet teams to ensure seamless execution of contracted events. Actively participate in industry events, networking functions, trade organizations, and community activities to promote The Driskill and generate new business opportunities. Maintain accurate sales activity, account information, and pipeline management within Hyatt's sales systems. Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual catering revenue goals. Uphold Hyatt and Forbes service standards while serving as an ambassador for The Driskill within the Austin market. Why Join the Driskill ? Qualifications Two or more years of hotel, catering, event sales or hotel sales Proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close new business opportunities. Strong understanding of catering sales, social events, and group business. Established connections within the Austin market are highly desirable. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and a passion for achieving revenue goals. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
