Senior Maintenance Technician (DOH/LLCP #42664)

Salary $20.56 - $30.85 Hourly $42,773 - $64,160 Annually This position is a Pay Band C4 Posting Details This posting will be used for ongoing recruitment and may close at any time. Applicant lists may be screened more than once. Why does the job exist? This position exists to perform complex maintenance tasks for the buildings and grounds of the Los Lunas Community Program (LLCP). How does it get done? This job is completed by performing general and complex maintenance work related to, but not limited to: carpentry, minor electrical repairs, HVAC & boilers, painting, roof repairs, concrete work, repair/remolding offices/buildings, landscaping & grounds work, plumbing, construction, appliance repairs, and custodial duties. Who are the customers? Los Lunas Community Program Staff, Department of Health Staff, Individuals Served by Los Lunas Community Program, Lessors for leased properties within LLCP and other External customers in the Community. Ideal Candidate Experience with multi-tasking Experience working with hand tools, carpentry tools, and other grounds and maintenance. Experience with plumbing, HVAC and Boilers. Experience with moving and/or relocating of office furniture and house furniture. Minimum Qualification High School Diploma or Equivalent and one (1) year of experience in general buildings and grounds maintenance, custodial duties, construction, or appliance repair. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Employment is conditional pending results of a criminal background check. Working Conditions Work is performed primarily in the field in varying weather conditions • hot or cold, humidity, wind, rain and snow; exposure to sunlight, dust, pollen, chemicals, rough/rugged terrain, insects and reptiles, noxious plants and infected trash; must be able to work safely with dirt, soils, fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides and pesticides; must be able to work in noisy conditions around power tools and equipment; exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, toxic fumes/chemicals and/or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals and/or asphalt and petroleum products; subject to falls and bruises, considerable physical strain; hand dexterity required for some duties; numerous specific vision abilities to include: close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus; some climbing, reaching, kneeling and crawling to perform job duties; ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Work may also be performed in an office setting with exposure to visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and personal computer and telephone usage to include working with faxes, copiers and printers.
