Job Description: The Business Development Manager (BDM) will primarily be responsible for building new account relations, identifying new business prospects, and securing new Services business contracts within Alaska and Washington state. Market segments of key interest are oil and gas, energy, construction, mining, and other remote workplaces. Responsibilities:
• Identify and secure prospective clients to drive new business acquisition target achievement
• Acquire an in-depth understanding of clients and understand customer needs, requirements, and market trends
• Identify buying influences and develop contacts at the highest appropriate levels within target clients and prospects
• Grow and manage a pipeline of opportunities in the CRM system (Salesforce.com) and report as requested on business development and new opportunities
• Ensure professional representation at industry specific functions and maximize networking opportunities
• Coordinate internal stakeholders and provide strong technical writing for RFP proposals
• Balance the ongoing need to manage the long-term strategy of key opportunities while delivering on the current requirements of the business
• Continually evaluate progress within the market segment against sales pipeline objectives, revenue, and profit targets and client account plans
• Ensure the professional standard of all written client proposals, tender documents, and communication is adhered to, in line with company standards and pricing procedures
• Meet and exceed sales targets Salesforce CRM Management:
• Ensure real-time update of all client-related activities into Salesforce.com
• Manage the sales pipeline from the start of all engagements with prospects/clients, timely updating any changes (i.e. stages, competitors, and resolutions causes for WON and LOST opportunities)
• Track all activities/points of contact with prospects/clients, providing detailed information on what was discussed/decided and on exchanged documents
• Ensure that all owned records (accounts, contacts, opportunities, etc.) are timely and accurately updated Skills and Qualifications: Education and Experience:
• Proven experience in a sales role with a track record of achievement
• Experience of working with clients in Oil & Gas, Mining, Construction, Infrastructure, and Defense
• Seven + (7+) years B2B sales/client relations experience preferred
• Prior consultative sales experience with senior management
• A Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• An experienced closer
• A natural networker with the ability to map out key account plans from cold calling to contract signing
• Well-developed influencer and negotiator with the ability to motivate and influence internal and external clients to commit to buy and the drive to close sales
• Experience engaging with various levels at corporate and field level
• Good strategic thinker with strong planning and organization skills who has the experience to develop solutions by adopting a consultative sales approach
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously, including activity planning and pipeline management
• Must be able to work autonomously and within a team to deliver results
• Ability to research and successfully gather all the required/relevant information relating to a client, prospect, and/or individual/contact to support each stage of the sales process
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds frequently
• Ability to travel as business and client needs demand
• Ability to operate standard office equipment Role Details: Location: Anchorage, Alaska Schedule: Mon – Fri, 40hrs/week Pay: DOE
