Total Compensation Package • Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Health Technician Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Assist in working with school health teams to plan, develop and implement comprehensive school health programs that meet the needs of public and BIA schools. Assist schools in all systems of financial support development, i.e., grant proposal to IHS, tribal and commercial resources. Assists with coordination of local committees established in family-based health promotion activities and events throughout the year. Assist in designing and implementing school health program evaluation and promote the safety of participants. Assists coordinator with developing culturally relevant educational materials to inform GSU communities about GSU Health Promotion Department Programs: SDPI, MSPI, DVPI. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: General Schedule Qualification Standards • Health Aid and Technician Series 0640 Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 and above): Positions in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Knowledge of epidemiological determinants, health impact, and population-level impacts of priority public health issues targeted by Health Promotion programs. Demonstrated ability to analyze health trends, interpret surveillance data and apply evidence-based public health models to inform program planning, intervention development, implementation, and performance evaluation in alignment with organizational objectives and community health needs. Demonstrate ability to integrate culturally informed communication strategies, traditional knowledge systems, and community-specific behavioral norms into program planning, health education delivery, and evaluation to ensure interventions are culturally congruent, acceptable, and effective within GSU student populations and their families. OR One full year (18 semester hours) of graduate education in a field that is directly related to the work of this position. OR A combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage equals to at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-07 grade level (must provide transcripts). Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment.
