Content Producer
American Turbines
ABOUT AMERICAN TURBINES
The power grid was built for a world that no longer exists. Centralized generation, hundred-mile transmission lines, decade-long permitting cycles. Meanwhile, demand is exploding: AI data centers, industrial electrification, remote operations that need megawatts yesterday and can't wait for utilities to catch up.
American Turbines is designing small modular gas turbines, purpose-built for distributed power generation. Machines designed from a blank sheet to be manufactured at scale, clustered in arrays. Hundreds of units operating in parallel, dynamically matching load like a compute cluster matches demand. We are a seed-stage company backed by the investors behind SpaceX, Boom Supersonic, and Hadrian.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Content Producer will document the build of our first engines and deployments
• bringing inspiring content of what we're building here at American Turbines, in front of the world. You'll shoot and edit video and photos in the shop and on the test stand, run our social accounts, and keep the website current.
The material is already here: parts coming off machines, assemblies going together, an engine going from cold spin to full power. Your job is to capture it and publish it the same week. You'll work directly with the founder and the engineering team, and you'll need to understand the machine well enough to explain it correctly.
This is a role for someone early in their career who wants to own everything a company publishes. There's no marketing department and no agency, you'll shoot it, cut it, write it, and post it. In person at our shop in San Francisco.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
A portfolio of work you shot and edited yourself. Short-form video, photography, a channel you grew, a site you built, client work or personal. You can run a camera, record usable sound in a loud shop, and edit fast (Premiere, Resolve, Final Cut, or similar).
You write plain sentences and can tell when a caption sounds like marketing. You've run social accounts and grown them, and you're comfortable making website updates yourself.
Interest in machines matters more than experience with them. You'll spend your days around turbines, machine tools, and test stands, the people who do well here ask the engineers how it works and get the details right. Past work on hardware, aerospace, automotive, or energy is a plus, so is anything you've built yourself.
