# SenioPerfumer / Fragrance Analyst – GC-MS

Role Description The Senior Perfumer / Fragrance Analyst – GC-MS is a full-time, on-site role based in Istanbul. This role involves designing and evaluating fragrance compositions, analyzing essential oils and aroma chemicals using GC-MS, and interpreting analytical data to guide formulation and quality control decisions. The individual will collaborate closely with R&D and production teams to optimize fragrance performance, ensure product consistency, and support the development of new fragrance lines. Daily activities include method development, sample preparation, data reporting, maintaining laboratory instruments, and contributing technical expertise to customer projects and internal innovation initiatives. Qualifications Advanced expertise in fragrance creation, evaluation, and perfumery techniques, with experience in fine fragrances, personal care, or home care applications. Strong GC-MS skills, including method development, sample preparation, data acquisition, interpretation of chromatograms and mass spectra, and troubleshooting analytical issues. Solid knowledge of aroma chemicals, essential oils, and natural extracts, including olfactory profiling, stability, and compatibility with various product bases. Understanding of regulatory and safety standards relevant to fragrances and ingredients (e.g., IFRA guidelines, global cosmetic and household regulations). Experience working in an R&D or analytical laboratory environment, with good laboratory practices, documentation, and quality control procedures. Proficiency in using relevant software for GC-MS data analysis and basic office tools for reporting and presentation. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Perfumery, or a related scientific discipline; specialized perfumery training is an advantage. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into practical formulation and product improvement recommendations. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and mentor less-experienced team members. Professional fluency in English; Turkish language skills are beneficial for local collaboration.
