The responsibilities of this position include contributing to Environmental Management System (EMS) performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in the protection of the environment and reduction of pollution from the activities within the organization. What You'll Do: Follows safety guidelines and procedures Participates in team meetings and training Cleans work area according to 5’s standards Unloads new waste containers to be used in plant Unloads waste containers in storage area according to waste type Transfers waste rags and paper from drums to Gaylord boxes Crushes cans and drums in drum crusher Punctures aerosol cans. Picks-up, boxes, and stores used light bulbs Runs daily route to pick up full drums waste containers and/or empty raw material drums for storage and disposal. Weighs waste containers before putting into storage. Assists in loading waste cDeontainers for shipment. Assists in other areas as time permits. Other duties may be assigned. What You Need: WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet, humid, extreme cold, and extreme heat conditions. The employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee will be required to wear protective clothing, gloves, hard hat, and respirator, as specified in the various processes and/or instructions.
