Senior Accountant

A growing financial services company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team and play a key role across its accounting and financial operations. This is a hands-on position with broad responsibility and visibility, offering a salary of $100,000–$150,000 and ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to be involved in more than just the month-end close. Working closely with management and departments across the company, the Senior Accountant will support general accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and various financial and operational projects. Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant: Manage day-to-day accounting activities and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Oversee or support accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and bank reconciliations. Assist with payroll processing and related accounting. Support industry-related accounting, including premiums, commissions, and other financial activity. Assist with annual audits, tax preparation, and other compliance requirements. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting. Partner with management on ad hoc financial analysis and special projects. Take ownership of additional responsibilities as needed in a small-company environment. Qualifications of the Senior Accountant: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles. Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and meet deadlines. A hands-on, team-oriented approach and willingness to jump in wherever needed. P-9
