# Transplant Data Analyst

Job Requirements Under general supervision, the Clinical Data & Quality Reporting Analyst compiles, analyzes, and interprets clinical and operational data to support effective resource utilization, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program in the Marlene and Stuart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. The role actively engages key stakeholders—including medical staff, clinical operations, and Quality & Safety leadership—to understand information needs and deliver accurate, timely, and actionable reporting. The Analyst uses large clinical databases to produce standard and ad hoc reports, ensures data integrity, and supports external regulatory submissions. Regulatory Reporting — Compiles data required by external agencies, ensuring adherence to reporting regulations and guidelines. Completes patient abstracts including demographic, treatment, and historical information. Prepares reports related to referrals, activations, registration, discharge, follow‑up, and mortality. Quality & Safety Data Collection — Collects and organizes data for quality and regulatory reporting. Coordinates timely submission of information and maintains communication and record‑keeping systems supporting patient referral, acceptance, and program management. Database Support — Provides user support for data entry errors, password resets, and access issues in the absence of the database administrator. Documents processes to standardize tasks and enable handoff to team members. Reporting & Analytics — Designs and produces standardized and ad hoc reports that meet program requirements. Conducts analyses to generate user‑friendly reports that help physicians and clinical leaders understand practice patterns, utilization trends, and organizational performance. Data Integrity & Custom Queries — Queries databases to compile customized data sets for transplant administrators, finance, social services, and immunogenetics. Ensures accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all data outputs. Clinical Improvement Support — Assists physicians and clinical operations leadership with design, methodology, measurement, and reporting needs for clinical practice improvement initiatives (e.g., questionnaire design, concept measurement). Work Experience Demonstrated personal computer skills and familiarity with database architecture and crystal report development. Familiarity with SQL programming preferred. Knowledge of spreadsheets (i.e. Microsoft Excel), databases (i.e., Microsoft Access), word processing programs (i.e., Microsoft Word), graphic/specialty and other data visualization related software programs, such as Tableau. Must be well organized, detail oriented, and able to gather data from medical records in response to internal and external requests for information. Research skills, including conducting research using the Internet and other on-line library services preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills are required to work with medical, nursing, and other allied health staff as well as external agencies requesting information. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs. Must be able to meet tight deadlines and multi-task.
