The Opportunity Lead field quality activities from construction planning through project closeout. The Project Field Quality Control Manager works closely with Project Managers and Senior Construction Managers to implement project quality programs, verify construction quality, and resolve issues in the field. You’ll oversee inspections, subcontractor and supplier compliance, and the records needed to demonstrate that work meets project requirements. This opportunity suits an experienced construction quality professional who combines technical knowledge with practical field judgment and can work with crews, clients, and contractors to get issues resolved. What You’ll Do Implement project quality programs: Support the development of Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, procedures, and forms, and ensure field teams understand and follow them. Verify construction quality: Inspect concrete and civil works, stringing, excavation, and structure setting against applicable standards and project requirements. Coordinate inspections with client representatives and other personnel. Monitor contractor and supplier compliance: Conduct audits, site visits, and quality reviews to verify that project requirements are consistently met. Resolve non-conformances: Manage quality issues through corrective action and closeout, support root-cause investigations, and verify that corrective and preventive measures are effective. Maintain reliable quality records: Review, analyze, sign off, and maintain inspection reports, logs, test results, certificates, and supporting records for completeness and traceability. Support project closeout: Assist with as-built documentation and coordinate the timely completion of quality records and closeout requirements. Improve field practices: Work with construction teams to prevent recurring issues, promote quality awareness, and contribute practical improvements through lessons-learned reviews. What You’ll Bring Journeyperson Powerline Technician certification or an equivalent trade credential, or a combination of related field experience and post-secondary education. Seven to ten years of quality management experience in transmission powerline construction, utilities, or civil construction. Demonstrated experience as a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Inspector on large-scale projects. Substantial experience managing teams of three or more Quality Coordinators or Quality Inspectors. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain quality requirements clearly and work effectively with field personnel, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. The ability to coach and mentor others in quality requirements and practices. Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects or activities and meet inspection, documentation, and closeout deadlines. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to project teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. A valid Class D driver’s license. Work Environment & Schedule Work environment: Site-based work supporting active construction projects. Work locations vary according to project requirements. Rotation: 3 weeks on / 1 week off Schedule: Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as required by construction activities and project schedules. Per diem: $200 per day, depending on location. The range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements. This range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.Base Pay Range$50—$56 USDForbes Bros.
