Mechanical Engineer

Location: Sparks, NV Job Type: Full-Time Work Location: In Person Position Overview We are seeking a self-motivated and disciplined Mechanical Engineer with strong technical capabilities and a hands-on approach to mechanical design and industrial manufacturing. This position will be responsible for designing, improving, and implementing mechanical systems and equipment used in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical design, custom equipment, machinery, fabrication, and industrial systems. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, safety, reliability, and overall operational performance. Key Responsibilities Develop accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D SolidWorks models for new and existing mechanical systems. Design custom equipment, machinery, and mechanical systems to improve performance, safety, and reliability. Translate engineering concepts into functional prototypes and production-ready designs. Manage projects through the complete lifecycle, including design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning. Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems and develop long-term corrective solutions. Support equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, and other cross-functional teams. Review designs for manufacturability, functionality, safety, and reliability. Ensure mechanical designs comply with applicable safety, quality, and industry standards. Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, documentation, and project records. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and project requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field. 3+ years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, fabrication, and equipment design. Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Experience developing practical, production-ready mechanical solutions. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and identify effective corrective actions. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and technical problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in aluminum, metals, recycling, foundry, or heavy manufacturing environments. Experience designing custom machinery and material handling systems. Knowledge of industrial equipment installation and commissioning. Familiarity with industrial safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). Experience working with fabrication, welding, machining, and manufacturing processes.
