[Job Radar](https://jobradar.live/) / [Jobs](https://jobradar.live/ilanlar) / Senior Software Developer with Security Clearance Active On-site Chantilly, VA Posted · 29.09.2026 LinkedIn Jobs US # Senior Software Developer with Security Clearance VTG Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to support a large-scale, 200+ FTE technical development program supporting the Sponsor's Entitlement Programs, Identity and Access Management (IdAM/ICAM), Authentication, Authorization, Attributes, and Digital Policy Management initiatives. The Software Developer will work within a large, collaborative team of software developers, software engineers, and data engineers to modernize mission-critical applications and implement industry-standard technologies and development practices. What will you do? Design, develop, enhance, and modernize legacy applications using modern software development technologies and practices. Develop backend applications and services using Java, Spring Boot, and Python. Design and develop applications leveraging Neo4j and Elasticsearch. Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs. Analyze customer requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. Support the modernization and migration of legacy applications while maintaining continuity of existing mission-critical systems. Design and implement custom ETL processes and methodologies for data transformation and integration. Develop AWS CloudFormation scripts to provision network and application infrastructure in a repeatable and automated manner. Develop custom scripts to install, configure, and deploy application code within AWS EC2 instances. Leverage AWS services to build and operate scalable cloud-based applications. Implement and maintain Node.js PM2 for application monitoring, process management, and resiliency. Perform unit testing, peer code reviews, and automated application testing. Create, edit, maintain, and execute automated tests using Selenium. Utilize Git, Jenkins, and/or Rundeck to support source control, continuous integration, deployment, and automation. Work within Red Hat Linux (RHEL) environments and utilize command-line tools for development and troubleshooting. Participate in Agile development activities using SAFe, Scrum, and other Agile methodologies. Collaborate with developers, software engineers, data engineers, and other technical stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges. Produce clear technical designs, documentation, and implementation plans. Mentor junior developers and promote software development best practices across the development community. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical guidance to other team members. Support the secure, reliable, and uninterrupted operation of mission-critical applications. Do you have what it takes? Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 6-10 years of relevant software development experience. Strong hands-on development experience with: Java Spring Boot Python Amazon Web Services (AWS) Experience developing and modernizing enterprise or legacy applications. Experience developing RESTful APIs. Experience developing applications utilizing Neo4j and Elasticsearch. Experience reading, analyzing, and developing technical solutions based on customer requirements. Experience with AWS CloudFormation and Infrastructure as Code concepts. Experience scripting application installation and configuration within AWS EC2 environments. Experience designing and implementing ETL processes. Experience with unit testing, peer code reviews, and automated testing. Experience creating, maintaining, and executing automated tests using Selenium. Knowledge of DevOps and development tools such as: Git Jenkins Rundeck Experience working from the command line within Red Hat Linux (RHEL) environments. Experience working within Agile, Scrum, and/or SAFe development environments. Strong technical documentation and system design skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Strong time management and workflow management skills. Ability to methodically analyze complex technical challenges and develop technically sound solutions in a collaborative environment.
