Role Overview The MRI Tech III is an advanced imaging professional responsible for performing complex MRI procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards within the department. Key Responsibilities Perform a wide range of MRI scans, including advanced techniques, adapting to technological advancements. Enforce MRI safety protocols, especially regarding patients with medical implants such as pacemakers and electronic devices. Provide compassionate patient care, including assisting patients with claustrophobia and managing their comfort during procedures. Operate independently under supervision, utilizing comprehensive knowledge of MRI physics and biological effects. Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, including screening for unsafe medical implants prior to procedures. Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to continuing education requirements. Collaborate with radiologists and department staff to deliver optimal imaging services. Qualifications & Skills Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Certified by ARRT (MRI certification), ARMRIT, or NMTCB. Minimum of 5 years of progressive MRI clinical experience with expertise in cross-sectional anatomy. Advanced MRI certification and BLS certification required. In-depth knowledge of MRI physics, safety protocols, and handling patients with medical implants. Ability to exercise independent judgment and adapt to new imaging techniques. Strong communication skills and compassion for patient care.
