# Backend Engineer (Java / Spring Boot)

Our teams build scalable web and mobile applications, cloud-based services, and intuitive user experiences. We are growing our backend engineering team to develop reliable systems that process large volumes of transactions and calculation-intensive business workflows. The Role We are looking for a Backend Engineer with strong Java and Spring Boot experience. You will build and evolve backend services where correctness, performance, scalability, and data integrity are critical. The systems you work on process high transaction volumes, manage concurrent requests, and execute calculation-heavy business logic. This is a hands-on engineering role. You will work closely with product, frontend, QA, and DevOps colleagues to deliver well-designed services that perform reliably in production. What You Will Do Design, build, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot. Develop RESTful APIs and microservices that support high-traffic, transaction-heavy applications. Implement robust business and calculation logic with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and auditability. Design reliable workflows for concurrent requests, failures, retries, and service-to-service communication. Work with relational databases and transactional data to ensure reliable data processing. Identify, investigate, and resolve performance bottlenecks, production incidents, and scalability issues. Collaborate with DevOps on cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and operational reliability. Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement of engineering practices. Produce clean, maintainable, well-tested, and documented code. What We Are Looking For Required At least 3 years of professional backend development experience. Strong practical experience with Java and Spring Boot. Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services in a production environment. Experience building systems that process high transaction volumes, concurrent requests, or calculation-intensive logic. Solid understanding of data consistency, transactional processing, error handling, logging, and debugging. Experience with relational databases and SQL. Experience with AWS services, such as ECS, Lambda, S3, or similar cloud services. Experience working with Docker and containerized applications. Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed-system principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in a cross-functional team. Preferred Experience with Node.js. Experience working with Kubernetes-based environments. Experience with asynchronous or event-driven architectures. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code-quality tools. Experience with monitoring and observability tools. Experience in high-throughput domains, including payments, financial systems, gaming, real-time platforms, or similar transaction-sensitive products. What Success Looks Like Backend services remain accurate and reliable under high traffic and concurrent usage. Transactional and calculation logic is robust, testable, and traceable. Performance and operational issues are identified and resolved effectively. Code quality, test coverage, and technical documentation improve over time. You contribute constructively to technical decisions and team delivery.
