PAYROLL SPECIALIST Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY 10018 | Fully In-Office Only Salary: $70,000–$80,000/year, depending on experience Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM ET Type: Full-Time Key Requirements: 4+ years of payroll experience | 3+ years of Excel | QuickBooks & payroll software proficiency Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing and related compliance for 100+ companies. This role works closely with bookkeepers, accountants, clients, and government agencies to ensure accurate and timely payroll and tax processing. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable handling multiple clients, and able to respond quickly and professionally to payroll-related questions and issues. What You’ll Do Process payroll for 100+ companies Set up and upload payroll data using cloud-based software and QuickBooks Process and distribute payroll through direct deposit and checks Prepare payroll reports and maintain client files Prepare and navigate payroll tax returns Handle SUI setup, workers’ compensation, disability, and related compliance audits Respond to IRS and state payroll-related inquiries Work closely with bookkeepers and accountants Answer client payroll questions and resolve payroll-related issues Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time What You’ll Bring 5+ years of payroll experience required 3+ years of Microsoft Excel experience required Proficiency with QuickBooks and payroll software Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage payroll for multiple companies Strong communication and timely follow-up with clients Clear English communication required Must be able to commute to Midtown Manhattan, NY 10018 Compensation & Benefits $70,000–$80,000/year, depending on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) with company matching Paid time off WHY JOIN?
