Tax Manager Location: New Castle, DE Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: $150,000–$190,000 , depending on experience and level About the Opportunity A well-established accounting and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its Delaware office. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA who wants to work in a broad, generalist tax role with significant exposure to closely held businesses, individuals, nonprofit organizations, and a variety of industry sectors. The position will combine tax compliance, planning, advisory work, client relationship management, and business development . The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working directly with clients and wants to grow within a collaborative, relationship-driven accounting environment. The Delaware office is a close-knit team, making this role particularly suited to someone who enjoys being involved across multiple areas of the practice rather than working in a highly segmented tax department. Key Responsibilities Manage a diverse portfolio of tax engagements from planning and preparation through completion. Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses. Work with 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120-S, 1041 , and other applicable returns. Provide tax planning and consulting services to closely held businesses and their owners. Develop tax projections and estimated tax calculations. Research complex tax issues and provide practical recommendations to clients. Assist clients with entity structuring, succession planning, transactions, and other business advisory matters. Manage multiple engagements while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. Communicate directly with clients and develop long-term professional relationships. Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and introduce additional services. Participate in business-development activities, networking, and community involvement. Mentor and provide technical guidance to staff and senior-level tax professionals. Collaborate with accounting and advisory professionals when client needs extend beyond tax. Stay current with federal, state, and local tax law and regulatory developments. Industry Exposure The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across multiple industries. Relevant experience may include: Construction & Real Estate Manufacturing & Distribution Nonprofit Organizations Automobile Dealerships Government / Government-related entities Professional and closely held businesses Experience in every industry is not required . The priority is strong overall tax knowledge and the ability to operate as a well-rounded tax generalist . Qualifications CPA required. Approximately 7+ years of public accounting tax experience preferred. Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge. Significant experience with both individual and business taxation. Strong tax preparation, review, research, and planning skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Client-facing and relationship-management experience. Demonstrated interest in business development and growing client relationships. Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small, experienced team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Compensation & Growth $150,000–$190,000 base salary , depending on experience and overall qualifications. This position provides a potential path toward greater leadership responsibility for a Tax Manager who demonstrates strong technical expertise, client relationship skills, and business-development ability. No existing book of business is required.
