Cost & Sourcing Analyst (Maintenance) Reporting to Group Head of Supplier Management and Sourcing Based at RS Office in UK, France or Germany As our Cost & Sourcing Analyst, you will define and implement a total cost of Acquisition/Ownership model and enhance our decision making process on sourcing and supply routes to be more competitive in our global product offer whilst meeting customer needs. You’ll deliver significant savings by defining and implementing an intelligent supply route strategy managing cross-functional stakeholders through the procurement lifecycle and translate our Maintenance sourcing strategy into global supply chain improvement needs in relation to customers, suppliers and internal stock/service management processes, working with various teams to define and implement savings throughout the entire supply chain, including consignment, vendor managed inventory, consignment stocking etc. You will have an indirect financial responsibility and an impact on the £300m cost of sales, £175m of global inventory and Supply Chain operational costs. However, the initial target would be reducing supply route cost by £2m in FY13. As the Cost & Sourcing expert, your responsibilities will include to ensure: Identify and analyze product cost and global supply flows to ensure a fact based view of the cost and total cost of acquisition. Evaluate the most significant global supply opportunities Firm grasp of the key issues and their financial impact Identify and implement robust Cost management tools and processes Evaluate improvement options and select the most appropriate solution Investigate factors which affect and contribute to making key decisions of the best supply route available across the globe Influence decisions from cross-functional teams on new processes and strategies Plan the training and communication for new total cost of acquisition tools Investigating and implementing new innovative supply management techniques to improve profitability Provide insight on preferred solutions to supply chain management and non supply chain managers Work with Supply Chain to define new initiatives Engage with buying teams to ensure successful implementation and review of the global cost of ownership and improvement plans for Maintenance
