Project Estimator

Job Roles And Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for ceiling systems and related commercial construction projects Perform material takeoffs and calculate labor requirements based on project drawings and specifications Review architectural and engineering drawings, project specifications, and scopes of work Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations and subcontractor pricing Develop accurate cost proposals, project budgets, and estimates Identify discrepancies, scope gaps, and potential cost saving opportunities Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, suppliers, and clients to clarify project requirements Support bid preparation, bid submissions, negotiations, and value engineering activities Maintain estimating databases, pricing records, and historical cost information Track bid results and use historical data to improve estimating accuracy Ensure estimates are accurate, organized, and completed within deadlines Support project planning and financial decision making through reliable cost analysis Qualifications And Certifications High school diploma or equivalent required Associate or bachelor degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred Experience in construction estimating and project cost estimation Ability to interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, specifications, and scopes of work Knowledge of material takeoffs, labor calculations, subcontractor pricing, and construction budgeting Familiarity with commercial construction, ceiling systems, or interior construction systems preferred Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital plan review tools Experience with PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar estimating and takeoff software preferred Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate with project teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients Willingness to visit project sites when required
