Materials Test and Calibration Technician

Perform materials, environmental, mechanical, or electronic testing in a laboratory, manufacturing, or aerospace and defense environment Operate and maintain laboratory test equipment, including vibration tables, thermal chambers, tensile testing machines, and associated instrumentation Prepare test specimens, configure fixtures, set up equipment, and execute tests in accordance with established procedures and technical specifications Perform equipment calibrations, functional checks, and measurement verification in accordance with established calibration procedures and traceability requirements Install and configure sensors, thermocouples, strain gauges, and other instrumentation used in materials and environmental testing Operate data acquisition systems, monitor test parameters, collect measurement data, and identify anomalies or out-of-tolerance conditions Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, technical specifications, and test procedures while identifying discrepancies and recommending improvements Accurately document test configurations, calibration activities, measurement data, test results, equipment discrepancies, and corrective actions, maintaining complete records to ensure equipment traceability and compliance with applicable quality requirements Other duties as assigned Requirements Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology, Avionics, or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred Experience: 2+ years highly preferred Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical measurement principles, including temperature, pressure, force, displacement, voltage, current, and resistance required Proficiency using measurement and test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, micrometers, torque instruments, and temperature measurement devices required Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics, with experience performing functional testing, basic troubleshooting, and fault isolation of electronic assemblies and equipment Familiarity with laboratory quality management systems, calibration traceability, ISO/IEC 17025, and applicable aerospace quality standards, with the ability to independently execute routine testing and calibration activities while collaborating with engineering and quality personnel to resolve technical issues Security: Must be a US citizen Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing and walking, able to bend, stretch, work with hands, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery Must be able to visually inspect machines Must be able to wear required safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and respirator as needed Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds Benefits Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) Retirement Plan (401k, IRA) Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D) Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays) Short Term & Long Term Disability Training & Development Wellness Resources Salary: The projected salary range for this position is $25-$30 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
