Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Location : Knoxville, TN Pay Range: starting at $50k, depending on experience LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing Knoxville-area organization to identify a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant . This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative accounting team where you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and contributing to the company's overall financial success. Typical responsibilities for Staff Accountants include journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close support, financial reporting assistance, and audit preparation. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Assist with month-end and year-end close activities Maintain fixed asset, prepaid expense, and accrual schedules Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports Analyze account activity and investigate variances Assist with internal and external audit requests Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations Identify process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1+ years of accounting experience preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Benefit offerings include PTO, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, and 401K plan.
