Monitor (Lead)

About the Position: Serve as a Monitor (Lead) performing simple and repetitive lunchroom, recess, and bus monitoring duties in a DoDEA school. Parker Elementary School is part of the Fort Rucker Schools Community in the DoWEA Americas Southeast District. Parker ES serves students in PK to grade 6. Report known or suspected problems, issues, or concerns to the appropriate staff, faculty member, or other officials. Develop shift schedules, assign work, and instruct employees in performance of their tasks. Assemble students at designated points and monitors movement and behavior as they pass through corridors on their way to cafeteria, recess or play areas. Monitor dismissal as students leave class and go to school buses or parent's cars. Monitor lunchroom activities, cleanup, and assists students to place paper and uneaten food into appropriate disposal receptacles. Monitor a designated recess area. Enforce safety rules, maintains order to prevent unsafe/dangerous practices. Assist students to use the restroom and instructs in basic personal hygiene practices. Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General Experience: Six months of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, set the work pace, schedule, and assign work; provide non-physical disciplinary practices sufficient to maintain discipline/order with school age children; enforce safety rules and maintain order to prevent unsafe/dangerous practices in school classrooms, hallways, on playground, and lunchroom. OR Education: One year of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 6. Then divide your semester hours of education by 30. Add the two percentages. FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
