Graphic Designer
OpenRoad Insurance
About the Role OpenRoad Insurance is a classic and collector car insurance company which insures enthusiast vehicle owners, people who obsess over details, and who can spot a generic insurance ad from a mile away. We don't look or sound like a typical insurance company, and our visual identity is one of the biggest reasons why. As our Graphic Designer, you'll own the execution of that identity across every touchpoint: email, website, event collateral, social, and brand campaigns. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You'll work directly with our CMO and collaborate closely with our Marketing Communications Manager on all marketing communications efforts, turning strategy and messaging into visuals that actually move a notoriously discerning, enthusiast audience, and that hold up next to the polish of a premium automotive brand, not a typical carrier. What You Will Deliver Digital & Social Design: Create high-performing ads, social content, and email creative in Figma, with an eye toward what drives engagement and conversion in a performance-marketing context — not just what looks good in a deck. Brand Identity Execution: Apply our brand system with precision across every asset — typography, color, layout, and tone, so it holds up whether it's a 300x250 banner ad or a 20-page sponsorship deck. You'll be one of the people responsible for making sure it never goes generic. Website & Landing Pages: Design and refine web assets and landing pages that support campaigns and conversion goals, working closely with our web developer. Editorial & Long-Form Brand Assets: Design one-pagers, guides, presentations, and campaign lookbooks that communicate real product value (Agreed Value Coverage, zero-deductible glass, OEM parts, etc.) in our voice. Event & Community Collateral: Design signage, banners, and print-adjacent materials for car shows, club sponsorships, and enthusiast events. Photo & Video Support: Help source, edit, and format photo and video content from member cars, events, and shoots for use across social and web. Iterative Design: Produce and present multiple strong directions quickly and revise fast based on feedback. This is a small, fast-moving team with no layers between concept and launch. MarCom Partnership: Work hand-in-hand with the MarCom Manager on all marketing communications efforts, translating messaging, campaign calendars, and comms priorities into visual execution across channels, and flagging where design can sharpen the message. Omnichannel Visual Strategy: Support the evolution of a multi-channel visual system to align with the B2B and D2C audiences. What We're Looking For Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating range across digital/social, web, and editorial/print work is required to be considered. Bonus points if it includes performance or campaign creative with visible results. Experience: 2–5 years of professional graphic design experience. Experience with an automotive, enthusiast, lifestyle, or premium D2C brand is a strong plus. Insurance or financial services experience is not required or expected. Exceptional Taste: Mastery of typography, layout, color, and composition, with the judgment to know when a design is "almost right" versus best in class. Figma Fluency: Figma is our primary design tool for digital, social, web, and presentation work. Comfort with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator) is a plus for photo editing and occasional print needs. Brand System Discipline: Proven ability to work within, and protect, a defined brand system across many asset types without it going stale or inconsistent. Performance Marketing Sense: Understanding what makes digital ads and social creative convert, not just look polished. Speed & Agility: Comfortable producing multiple strong options quickly and iterating under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Self-Starter: Highly detail-oriented, able to work independently, and able to drive a project from rough concept to finished, publish-ready asset without heavy oversight. Added Bonus: Photography or videography skills; familiarity with classic, collector, or performance car culture (you don't need to own one, but genuine interest helps).
