# HAAS Machinist

Innovative Machine Specialists, Inc.

Join our growing team! IMS is looking for Machinists to run HAAS Mills or Lathes, on first &/or 2nd shift. Must be able to pass a drug test! General Purpose of This Position: Program and set-up lathes/mills Load, align, and operate machine per work order instructions Install and adjust chucks, tools, attachments, etc. Prepare tooling for changeovers and perform machine changeovers. Ability to interpret dimensions and tolerances Ability to accurately use and interpret measuring equipment Maintain specifications by observation and measuring equipment Consistent output of accurate parts Ensure work area is clean and safe Roadwork/Installation at customer site as deemed necessary by management Perform additional tasks as deemed necessary by management Must attend required meetings at specified location Qualifications And Skills Show professionalism through maturity, dependability, and a positive attitude People skills, including ability to communicate effectively and listen actively Keen sense of attention to detail Possess organizational skills Ability to work alone as well as with others Self-starter with the ability to take on multiple projects Skilled in establishing priorities and managing workload on a daily basis Great attendance and punctuality Education Requirements: Two-year technical college degree in Machine Tool Prior work experience will be considered Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements Always- Foot Protection (Steel Toe Footwear) Eye Protection Ear Protection in Hearing Required Areas, Occasionally in Hearing Recommended Areas Occasionally- Hand Protection Face Protection Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and work waist to shoulder. The employee is occasionally required to walk, bend, twist/pivot (neck/waist), and reach. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70#. It is very seldom that the employee will be required to squat/kneel/crawl, climb stairs/ladder, work over shoulder, or work floor to waist. Performance Elements The performance elements described here are representative of those an employee must perform in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee will frequently use a lathe, blue prints, and the use of measuring equipment including, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, tape measure, CMM, and various gauges. The employee will occasionally use hand tools. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. A shop experience is typical in this position. The employee will work indoors and very rarely be required to work outdoors. There will be exposure to noise. You Should Be Proficient In CNC Machine Setup & Changeover Machine Setups for Production Runs
