Role Description The Pre Kindergarten Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in San Antonio, TX. This role is responsible for planning and delivering developmentally appropriate lessons that support early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional growth, and critical thinking for pre-kindergarten students. The teacher creates a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment, implements curriculum aligned with school and state standards, and uses assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with grade-level and support teams, communicating regularly with families, maintaining accurate student records, and participating in professional development and school-wide events. The teacher models KIPP Texas values and supports a positive school culture that fosters curiosity, respect, and a love of learning. Qualifications Strong foundation in Early Childhood Education and experience working with pre-kindergarten or kindergarten-age learners. Demonstrated skills in Teaching and Lesson Planning, with the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs. Experience with Curriculum Development, including aligning lessons to standards and integrating play-based and hands-on learning. Knowledge of kindergarten readiness expectations and child development milestones. Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; appropriate state teaching certification or eligibility preferred. Effective classroom management, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Commitment to educational equity and culturally responsive teaching practices. Willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning and to contribute to a collaborative school community.
