Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical/Telemetry - Full-Time Nights

Position Summary The Clinical Staff Nurse is an experienced Registered Nurse responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care using the Watson Model of Care. Reporting to the Medical-Surgical Telemetry Manager, they organize, plan, and coordinate patient care for a specific group of patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and satisfaction. They actively participate in the hospital's mission, uphold core values, and support quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, and problem-solving to meet patient and family needs. Perform focused assessments, recognize subtle clinical changes, and adjust care plans accordingly. Provide age-appropriate care, applying current research and critical thinking for clinical decisions. Maintain therapeutic relationships, conduct hourly rounding, and promote patient satisfaction. Communicate effectively using SBAR, document care accurately, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Coordinate discharge planning, review orders, and evaluate intervention outcomes. Supervise ancillary staff, participate in unit orientation, and ensure a safe, compliant environment. Contribute to quality improvement activities and support new staff training. Assist with basic patient hygiene, ADLs, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's in Nursing preferred; Associate degree or diploma accepted. Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience; Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care experience preferred. Current California RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications. Basic EKG competence; certifications in Progressive Critical Care or Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred. Bilingual skills (Spanish) and familiarity with electronic medical records are advantageous. Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills required.
