Join the Anthem Flight Management System Team As a Senior Software Engineer
• Flight Management Systems (FMS) , you will help design, develop, and integrate software for one of Honeywell Aerospace's most advanced avionics platforms. Working alongside a team of software and systems engineers, you will develop safety-critical software that powers key flight management capabilities while supporting the technical rigor required for certification in aerospace environments. This is an opportunity to work on complex real-world engineering challenges involving: Flight Management Systems (FMS) Avionics software Embedded and real-time systems Software architecture and design Multi-threaded application development Hardware/software integration Safety-critical aerospace technologies Your work will directly contribute to the next generation of cockpit technology used by pilots around the world. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software architectures and applications for aerospace and avionics systems. Develop Flight Management System (FMS) software that meets system performance, safety, reliability, and certification requirements. Collaborate with systems engineers, architects, and cross-functional teams to define software requirements and technical solutions. Implement robust software solutions that support performance, scalability, security, and operational reliability. Lead and participate in software requirements, design, and code reviews. Perform software integration, verification, validation, and troubleshooting on hardware test environments. Investigate and resolve complex software and system-level issues using structured debugging and root-cause analysis techniques. Drive continuous improvement through adoption of modern software engineering practices and emerging technologies. Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and collaboration. YOU MUST HAVE: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics. 5+ years of experience in software development. Strong C++ and/or Object-oriented programming skills. Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum. Strong software architecture and design development skills. WE VALUE: Advanced educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical disciplines with 8+ years of experience in software development. Experience in Flight Management Systems (FMS) development is of value, including avionics software design, integration, and verification. Strong expertise in multi-core and multi-threaded software development, including concurrency, synchronization, performance optimization, and real-time systems. Experience managing and/or mentoring teams developing embedded software systems for safety-critical environments. Knowledge of aerospace standards and regulations, such as DO-178C. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and software engineering skills with the ability to design robust and scalable solutions. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional and collaborative team environments.
