Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse

MS Stroke Stepdown Nurse provides specialized, evidence-based care for adult stroke patients transitioning from ICU-level treatment in a fast-paced stepdown setting. Key Responsibilities Perform focused neurological (neuro) assessments and ongoing patient monitoring. Monitor telemetry and manage rapid response to changes in condition. Administer and manage IV medications per clinical protocols. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers to develop and implement individualized care plans. Use technology-enabled tools and data-driven protocols to support efficient workflows and improved outcomes. Educate patients and families on stroke prevention, symptom recognition, medication use, and lifestyle modifications to help reduce readmissions and support long-term quality of life. Qualifications & Skills Strong clinical RN skills with a focus on neurology and stepdown care. Ability to conduct timely neuro assessments, interpret telemetry, and manage acute changes. Proficiency with IV medication management and adherence to evidence-based protocols. Excellent teamwork and communication to coordinate care and support safe discharge. Compassionate patient and family education skills.
