# Assembly Technician

Mission Critical Group

Taking direction from Managers and Team Leads the Production Technician will be expected to read and understand electrical schematics, assemble control panels and equipment of varying size and scope to meet client and product specifications, and conduct pre-testing quality control as well as testing of completed systems. The Technician will also assist with routine shop and equipment maintenance. A background in electrical/ control systems and PLC experience is a plus. This position may require infrequent travel for installation/service deployment. Essential Duties/Responsibilities : The following list of responsibilities is not all inclusive, additional projects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. MCG retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position should operational needs warrant. Proper utilization of all common, electrical, and carpentry shop tools Assembly of electrical sheet metal enclosures Computer literacy Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary or other assigned duties Required Knowledge/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent OR relevant experience Minimum of 1 year in mechanical assembly/mechanical repair or associated field. Satisfactory completion of additional background screening (if applicable). Valid driver’s license Preferred certifications (OSHA10, CPR) Skills/Abilities High School Diploma or GED equivalent OR relevant experience At least 1 year of experience/familiarity with working in the electrical, mechanical, or assembly industry is required Work well in a team environment. Add to the culture. We all help each other. Proper utilization of all common electrical hand tools Self-motivated and detail—oriented individual. Attention to detail because each wire matters. Neat and tidy in work done Responsible for personal and area safety as well as general housekeeping Lift up to 50 pounds Basic computer literacy Satisfactory completion of additional background screening (if applicable). Valid driver’s license Preferred certifications (OSHA10, CPR) Work Environment and Physical Demands Safety glasses and equipment for daily use. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn, and this can be obtained from the MCG Fastenal cabinet. Hand protection, either cut resistant gloves or Leather work gloves as appropriate. Hearing protection when required. Earmuffs assigned by safety office for fabrication area. Steel or Composite toe boots or shoes for daily use will be purchased by the Technician. Reimbursement may be requested for one pair once a year. Physical exertion may vary depending on position type. May be required to regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, frequently stand or walk around the work area, and lift or move objects up to 50 lbs. Assembling may involve manipulating small parts and using hand tools. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are essential for this job. Comfortable with occasional repetitive motions. Must be able to follow instructions and stay alert to potential hazards on the shop floor. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities. Manufacturing facilities can be loud and have bright lights. Subjective to seasonal weather conditions (hot in summer and cold in winter months). Availability to travel, as needed, between MCG manufacturing facilities (Harleysville, North Wales & West Chester, PA and Stone Mountain GA) and/or client sites.
