Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and technically advanced OSP Field Operations Technician II to join our growing team at Ezee Fiber. This role is ideal for individuals who possess deep expertise in fiber splicing, troubleshooting, and network infrastructure. As a technician II, you’ll take on more complex tasks, mentor junior technicians, and contribute to the reliability and performance of our fiber optic network. Essential Functions Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair multiple customer outages (R2/C2). Assist Field Ops with advanced troubleshooting. Build and repair terminals and splice cases, including high-count fiber splicing (up to 288ct). Assist Network Engineering with cabinet equipment installation. Support repairs on backhaul and enterprise fiber routes. Mentor and train OSP Field Operations Technician I team members. Document segment release processes and ensure compliance. Utilize advanced monitoring systems (e.g., Calix Cloud, Altiplano) for diagnostics and reporting. Troubleshoot all network terminals (MST, FIT, Flex-Nap, Novux, etc.). Qualifications Education and Experience requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in fiber optics are a plus. Minimum of two (2) years in fiber splicing and five (5) years of experience troubleshooting fiber optic network in the OSP environment. Advanced competency in fiber splicing, troubleshooting, and documentation. Familiarity with cabinet equipment installation and customer-provided equipment (ONT, Eero, etc.). Experience with monitoring systems and network terminal troubleshooting. Basic leadership development and mentoring skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays and on call as needed. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. Outdoor Requirements The physical requirements described here and representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain or wind. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds as needed. Tolerate exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and uneven or slippery surfaces.
