Role Overview: The Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry-level nursing position within the Clinical Advancement Program, responsible for providing comprehensive patient care for those undergoing hemodialysis. Key Responsibilities Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and data collection before, during, and after dialysis treatments, adjusting care plans as needed. Administer medications and respond to emergencies, ensuring safe and effective therapy delivery. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and update patient care plans and educate patients and families on treatment options and self-care. Ensure proper laboratory procedures and participate in staff training and orientation. Delegate tasks to appropriate care staff and supervise as assigned, contributing to quality improvement activities. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current state licensure. CPR/BLS certification required. Entry-level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience; hemodialysis experience preferred. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, moving equipment, and prolonged standing in a healthcare environment. Additional Information: The role involves working in a healthcare setting with exposure to infectious materials, requiring physical stamina and teamwork. Supervisory duties are contingent upon experience and training completion.
