Automated Finance: Delivery – Director   CFGI’s Automated Finance practice delivers transformative finance and accounting solutions by managing ongoing operations below the CFO level. Our team combines deep accounting and controllership expertise with advanced technologies, including AI and automation, to improve service quality, scalability, and efficiency across daily accounting operations, financial close, reporting, and related finance processes.   As a Director in our Automated Finance Delivery practice, you will lead complex client relationships and Automated Finance engagements while helping scale the practice. You will partner with CFOs, Controllers, CAOs, and other senior leaders to shape sustainable finance operating models, oversee recurring accounting and controllership delivery, and identify opportunities to expand CFGI’s impact with clients. This role combines executive-level client leadership, operational delivery, team development, technology enablement, and business development.   Roles & Responsibilities Lead complex Automated Finance client relationships and oversee engagements across assessment, transition, and ongoing finance and accounting delivery. Partner with CFOs, Controllers, CAOs, and senior finance leaders to define effective outsourced controllership and finance operating models. Provide executive oversight of accounting operations, financial close, reporting, general ledger accounting, and related controllership activities across client engagements. Ensure recurring accounting delivery remains accurate, timely, controlled, scalable, and aligned with client expectations. Establish and monitor delivery expectations, governance, service quality, performance metrics, and client outcomes. Lead major process-improvement initiatives across procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, and other core finance processes. Advise executive stakeholders on complex accounting, reporting, controls, operating-model, and finance-delivery challenges. Oversee development of dashboards, data models, KPIs, and management reporting that improve transparency and decision-making. Champion the use of AI, automation, analytics, and finance technologies to improve service quality, scalability, and efficiency. Coordinate with CFGI capabilities across accounting advisory, finance transformation, data and analytics, systems, and other relevant functions to deliver integrated solutions. Provide oversight and escalation support for significant accounting, delivery, and client-service issues. Develop Senior Managers and Managers and establish a strong culture of accountability, quality, coaching, and professional development. Identify opportunities to expand client relationships, cross-sell CFGI capabilities, and develop new Automated Finance opportunities. Lead or significantly contribute to proposals, presentations, pricing, solution development, and other business-development activities. Participate in recruiting, practice strategy, methodology development, workforce planning, and other initiatives supporting the growth of Automated Finance.   What you must have 12+ years of experience in corporate accounting, public accounting/audit, accounting advisory, outsourced accounting, Automated Finance, shared services, or a comparable accounting environment, including substantial experience leading recurring accounting and controllership delivery. At least 1 year of external audit experience with a public accounting firm. Experience leading complex client engagements, accounting operations, or finance organizations involving recurring financial close, reporting, controllership, and related accounting processes.   What sets you apart Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Deep experience overseeing recurring accounting operations, financial close, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and related controllership activities. Experience leading large or complex accounting-service engagements through multiple recurring reporting and close cycles. Experience establishing delivery governance, service expectations, quality standards, escalation processes, and performance metrics. Experience advising CFOs, Controllers, CAOs, or other senior finance executives on accounting and finance-operating challenges. Experience leading significant process improvement across procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, or related finance processes. Experience managing and developing teams of accounting and finance professionals across multiple engagements or workstreams. Experience leading complex client relationships and expanding the scope of services delivered. Demonstrated progression into senior leadership roles with sustained responsibility for accounting delivery, teams, and client outcomes.   Nice to have CPA, MBA, CFA, or another relevant professional credential. Experience building or leading Automated Finance, outsourced controllership, shared-services, or accounting-delivery capabilities. Experience with AI, automation, ERP platforms, analytics, data visualization, workflow, or other finance technologies. Experience leading major accounting-service transitions or designing standardized delivery models. Experience selling professional services, developing proposals, negotiating scope, or growing strategic client accounts.
