Chartering Manager

DİTAŞ Deniz İşletmeciliği ve Tankerciliği A.Ş. was established in Istanbul on March 16, 1974 by TPAO, İPRAŞ and the Turkish Naval Foundation to provide domestic and international maritime transportation of crude oil and petroleum products. The Turkish Naval Foundation was transformed into TAFF-Turkish Armed Forces Foundation and İPRAŞ was transformed into TÜPRAŞ-Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri A.Ş. The legal structure of the company has undergone changes in the course of time and was transferred to the Privatization Administration on 25.11.1993. Ditaş became a subsidiary of TÜPRAŞ in October 2002. With the acquisition of 51% of TÜPRAŞ shares by Enerji Yatırımları A.Ş. on January 26, 2006, Ditaş became a part of Koç Group. We are looking for a Chartering Manager to join our Chartering and S&P Department Requirements: • Minimum 10 years of experience in tanker chartering, • Experience with shipowner/operator setup or trading houses will be a plus, • Strong experience with freight management system, • Ideal traits: Proactive, Team Player, Driven, Strong Time Management, • Dynamic and ambitious team player with a proven track record in chartering, • Ability to build strong relationships with customers, brokers, and other key industry stakeholders, • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. • Great communication skills, and the ability to work in a team, • Experience in working in a Multi-Cultural environment, • Ability to achieve results in a demanding and challenging environment, • Ability to use initiative and problem solve, Responsibilities: • Negotiate charter party terms with charterers/operators/brokers, • Provide advice on commercial matters affecting operations and demurrage risk exposure, • Explore and maintain long-term business relationships with owners and charterers, • Provide accurate and timely shipping information to top management to facilitate smooth trading activities and to improve company’s commercial strategies • Monitor the market, follow-up cargoes and retrieve business opportunities, • Analyse and understand pros / cons of different employment opportunities (spot, period, pool, etc.), • Liaise with operations and technical teams to ensure that any unexpected event or technical issue is properly managed to avoid commercial disruption, • Ensure the KYC with related departments for any customer to be in line with law and group policies, • Ensure that the fixture notes and other commercial reports are being prepared by the team to the benefit of the management, • Reports directly to Head of Chartering and S&P
